Ruby.

Occasionally, our nearest and dearest get ready for their big day — and this time, it was one of my best friends! Styling a wedding for someone so close is a mix of joy and a little pressure — you want everything to be perfect.

Ruby’s wedding was set in the gorgeous Oxfordshire countryside at Primrose Hill Farm, a venue I was visiting for the first time but absolutely hope to return to. The onsite cottage where the bridal team got ready was dreamy — think four-poster beds, freestanding bathtubs, and cozy armchairs.

The Bridal Team

The bridal team was small but perfectly formed — and I had my 16-week-pregnant self to get ready too! Originally, during our preview, Ruby had opted for a Hollywood wave, but on the morning, she surprised me with a last-minute decision: she wanted an updo! Stress levels aside, I was ready — ‘works well under pressure’ is always on my CV. Together, we created a twisted bun, complete with her “something borrowed” hair accessory from my own wedding day.

While Ruby’s boujee mum enjoyed a luxurious bath, I styled her sister’s hair into a sleek high ponytail with soft Hollywood waves. Once mum emerged, relaxed and ready, we finished her look with a beautiful blow-dry and curls.

Ruby’s Bridal Hair

By the time I got myself ready, Ruby was glowing in her wedding dress. Her twisted updo was elegant, romantic, and perfectly suited to the simplicity and charm of Primrose Hill Farm. Every detail came together effortlessly, from her hair accessory to the natural, relaxed vibe of the morning.

A Morning to Remember

Pregnancy hormones aside, watching my best friend walk down the aisle was a truly emotional and magical moment. The venue was simplistic yet stunning, and the atmosphere of love, laughter, and excitement made the morning unforgettable.

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Ruby’s wedding morning and help her feel radiant, confident, and ready to celebrate her special day.
