Lucy.

Is there anything more special than doing wedding hair for family? My little brother recently got married, and I was over the moon to style my sister-in-law-to-be’s bridal hair — even if I did have to get myself ready at the same time!

First Time Styling at Kings Chapel, Amersham

This was my first visit to the beautiful Kings Chapel in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. I adore the venue’s simplicity — it can be dressed up with florals and décor or kept wonderfully minimal.

Lucy, my sister-in-law, was getting ready in the on-site hotel. It’s a gorgeous space for morning prep photos, though the charmingly uneven floors did catch me out once or twice!

Perfecting the Bridal Look

We had already trialled Lucy’s chosen hairstyle at my salon in Aylesbury, and she didn’t waver from her vision on the day: a glam ponytail with a Hollywood wave. With her incredibly thick, gorgeous hair (truly enough to rival a horse!), the look turned out beautifully full and elegant.

Her bride tribe — her mum and two sisters — each opted for something different.

  • Her mum chose a classic blow-dry

  • One sister went for soft, waved hair worn down

  • The other had a textured boho chignon

The final touch was securing Lucy’s pearl-detailed veil, completing her timeless bridal style.

A Smooth, Joyful Wedding

The whole morning flowed effortlessly, and — miraculously — everyone was ready on time, including me! Once I was officially “off duty,” I even managed to enjoy a cheeky Prosecco (or two).

The incredibly talented Tom Hampson Photography captured the day beautifully. The photos are simply stunning and show just how radiant Lucy looked.

A Morning I’ll Always Treasure

Lucy, it was such an honour to do your wedding hair and share the excitement of your morning preparations. Being involved in your wedding in such a personal way is something I will truly cherish.
