Amelia.

Some weddings stay with you forever — and Amelia’s wedding at Notley Tythe Barn in Aylesbury was definitely one of them! This was the booking that made me realise I needed an assistant. A whopping bridal party of nine meant it was time to call in help — so I reached out to Lauren, and the rest is history!

The Booking

Amelia first got in touch via Instagram, telling me about her plans for a beautiful countryside wedding at Notley Tythe Barn, one of Aylesbury’s most picturesque and popular wedding venues. She mentioned she had a big bridal party to get ready, so we booked in a couple of trials at my home salon in Aylesbury for her and her maid of honour, Alex.

Those trial sessions were such a lovely experience — relaxed, chatty, and full of excitement for the big day ahead. And, funnily enough, both Amelia and Alex are now regular clients of mine!

For her wedding look, Amelia chose a low boho bun with soft tendrils framing her face — romantic, textured, and effortlessly elegant. Alex initially went for a low ponytail with Hollywood waves, but later decided to match the rest of the girls with a stunning half-up, half-down style.

A Glorious Wedding Morning

When the big day finally arrived, the sun was shining, and the excitement was infectious. The bridal party were getting ready at a lovely house in Princes Risborough, and by the time we arrived, the place was already buzzing. There was laughter, music, breakfast, and prosecco — it honestly felt like the best slumber party ever!

The girls were doing each other’s makeup, helping with final touches, and creating such a fun, supportive atmosphere. It’s mornings like these that remind me why I absolutely love being part of wedding days.

And then there was Amelia’s mum — the real star of the show! So stylish, boujee, and effortlessly laid-back, she had us laughing all morning. She chose a sleek pin-curled bun, keeping all her hair off her face for an elegant and timeless look.

Bridal Party Styling

Lauren and I got straight to work, styling all the bridesmaids in matching half-up, half-down hairstyles that complemented their dresses perfectly. Once they were done, it was time to focus on Amelia. Her hair went up beautifully — just like it had at the trial.

We added a little padding for extra fullness and thickness before finishing with her veil. The final look was soft, romantic, and full of movement — perfect for her boho countryside wedding.

We worked right up until it was time to leave (and, in true wedding day fashion, the taxi for the bridesmaids was running late!), but we made sure everyone was completely ready and looking beautiful before they headed out the door.

A Perfect Day

The photos from the day say it all — laughter, sunshine, and a group of girls who looked absolutely stunning. Amelia was radiant, and we were so grateful to be part of such a joyful, relaxed morning.

Thank you, Amelia, for having us and treating us like part of the girl gang. Your wedding day will always hold such special memories — and it’s one I’ll never forget!
