This blog is extra special because the bride was my own sister-in-law—and I had the privilege of being both a bridesmaid and the wedding hairstylist.
With two celebrations just two weeks apart, this wedding gave me a wonderful opportunity to create a variety of bespoke hairstyles for the bride and bridal party.
The first ceremony took place at the Aylesbury Registry Office in Buckinghamshire, followed by an intimate family dinner. The larger celebration was held at the stunning Compleat Angler, Marlow, overlooking the River Thames—a perfect setting for timeless wedding photography.
Two weddings meant two completely different looks for the bride and lots of beautifully styled hair for the whole bridal party!
Hairstyle 1: Hollywood Wave Ponytail for the Registry Ceremony
For the registry office ceremony, Jordan wanted something sleek yet glamorous. I created a Hollywood wave ponytail—a sophisticated look that combined smooth structure with soft, flowing movement.
The style held beautifully throughout the ceremony and suited the understated, elegant vibe of the day.

As both hairstylist and bridesmaid, I styled my own hair into a twisted bun updo, secure enough for dancing and celebrating all day long.
